Rhode Island DeFusco’s Bakery Salmonella Outbreak Hits 33 with 17 Hospitalized

The Health Department has increased the Salmonella case numbers from 25 to 33. Of those 17 people were sick enough to require hospitalization. According to he Health Department, the unusually high rate of hospitalization results from the fact that many people who ate the pastries were elderly and less able to fight off the infection.
